3D Design

October 2012

20,000 Leagues under the Sea

I found 3-D the most challenging subject of the course however I managed overcome this and passed this project.

Below are some of my illustrations which I researched and came across different  sea creatures that are found to be in the deep sea. I choose create different sample models by using; Clay, Metal & Wood to represent my illustrations.

Clay - I found clay to be the most difficult material to work with. I only had a small time frame to work with otherwise, it would crack and dry quickly if I was not ready with the design I wanted to do. With success I created a small sample piece with the clay by using a clay knife.

Wood - I enjoyed using the pieces of wood to create a sample tile and miniature sculpture.  I was able to use a tool that comes in the form of a hot pen (correct name unknown). It allowed me to add intricate detail and effect to my pieces.

Metal - With the metal pieces, I used the hammer a to create dips on to my sample tiles. I was satisfied with how these pieces turned out even though I did not enjoy doing the subject, I still  put effort in to it and tried my best on each material.
